About Paul Town
Meet Paul Town
THE MAN WHO PAINTS FOOTBALL
For Paul Town, football has always been a way of life, but his journey to the canvas began in an unexpected place. After years of running his own building business, a gift of oil paints from his parents in 2012 sparked a transformative new passion. Swapping the tools of the trade for a palette knife and brush, Paul began a mission to capture the atmospheric beauty and architectural soul of the game we love.
Today, Paul is widely known as “The Man Who Paints Football.” His emotive oil paintings have taken him to the very heart of the sport, working directly with esteemed clubs such as Bradford City, Bradford (Park Avenue) Everton, Exeter City, and Grimsby Town, as well as Scottish stalwarts Dunfermline Athletic, Raith Rovers, Queen’s Park, and Cowdenbeath.
His work doesn’t just sit in galleries; it lives within the fabric of the sport, showcased permanently at iconic stadiums and held in private collections across the globe. A landmark moment in his career came in 2019, when Paul held a solo exhibition of his Hampden Trilogy series at Hampden Park, Scotland’s National Stadium – a testament to his unique ability to evoke the memories and deep-seated emotions of football history.
Paul’s reputation for excellence has earned him a notable following, with his work sought after by figures such as rugby league legend Brian Noble MBE and renowned sports commentator John Helm, who provided the foreword to Paul’s debut book. Whether it is a rain-soaked afternoon at a local ground or the electric glow of a European night under the lights, Paul’s passion shines through in every stroke, transporting the viewer back to the magic of matchday.
While Paul works at the highest levels of the game, his true inspiration comes from the supporters. He specialises in bespoke, personalised commissions for fans around the world, turning personal milestones and family memories into timeless pieces of fine art.
When you commission a painting from Paul Town, you aren’t just buying a picture of a stadium—you are preserving a piece of your own history.
“I don’t just paint stadiums; I paint the places we call home. Explore the collection and let’s relive the magic together.”
